KBS Ablative Coating over KBS Mortar to ensure vaccume seal

[ The Outcome ]

The completed works enhanced the fire safety and integrity of the client's critical assets, helping to reduce operational risk and support long-term asset protection. All fire protection systems were installed and certified to satisfy insurance and compliance requirements, providing the client with confidence in the ongoing safety and reliability of their infrastructure.

[ The Challenge ]

Critical power infrastructure requires specialised fire protection systems to minimise the risk of fire spread and maintain asset integrity. The project involved protecting battery terminal assets and sealing service penetrations within high-voltage substations to ensure long-term performance and compliance.

[ Our Solution ]

SIMTEC applied high-performance ablative fire protection coatings to the incoming and outgoing power supply, providing a robust passive fire barrier designed to limit the spread of fire.

In addition, KBS mortar was installed to service penetrations within the 330kV substation, creating effective vacuum seals while maintaining the required fire-rated performance of the infrastructure.
